Erin Hesse
Small Groups Director + Executive Projects Manager
Madison has been my home for most of my life—and consequently, so has High Point Church. Both of my parents are believers, and they spurred on my faith in Christ by leading our family in consistent prayer and devotions at home, by having me attend a Christian camp for a week every summer beginning in middle school, and by regularly attending HPC as a family ever since I was 5 years old. They also enrolled me at High Point Christian School, where my Kindergarten teacher explained the gospel to all of us. I was eager to accept Jesus as my Savior, and I remember the day I chose to pray with her to receive him as my Lord. I was later baptized when I was 12 years old, and my understanding of how to follow Jesus with my whole self has only grown over the past 30 years.
I attended the University of Northwestern – St. Paul and in 2011 received my degree in Youth and Family Studies with a minor in Bible. My husband Jason and I were both RAs in college and met while playing a pick-up game of ultimate frisbee. We got married in 2011, served together in youth ministry at a church outside of St. Paul for a few years, and then moved back to Madison to be near family in 2013. It was during these formative years in my twenties that the Lord helped me recognize that my experiences, gifts, and passions would suit me well for vocational ministry. So while for a time I was on track to become a Starbucks store manager, I joined the HPC staff team in 2015 as the Connections Coordinator and have been in a handful of different roles ever since. I am currently serving as the Small Groups Director and Executive Projects Manager, grateful to be in a role where I can build up this local body of Christ by means of developing leaders, providing encouragement and counsel, and bringing structure or organization in order to carry out the plans we make as a team.
