Adam Darbonne
Executive Pastor
In many ways, High Point is integrally wrapped up in my call to ministry. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and came to faith at an early age, growing up in a Christian home. My plan was to be a marine biologist as I set off for college at UC Davis (go Ags!), but the Lord had other plans and called me into ministry through a Christian fellowship on campus. A mentor in college (pastor Nic’s older brother) connected me to Nic and High Point and after graduating, I moved out to Wisconsin (which I literally couldn’t have placed on a map). The Lord used my year interning here to confirm my call to ministry. When the year was up, I headed off to seminary and then after began pastoring at a wonderful church in San Francisco. We loved the Bay Area, but after 8 years I sensed my time and call at that church ending and around that time Nic and I began talking about what it might look like for me to return to High Point in 2023.
It is such a privilege to serve at a church that was so formative in my call to ministry. I serve now as the Executive Pastor, which essentially means I help align our various ministries and leaders with the mission and vision of High Point Church in their day to day operations.
I’ve always been a Christian and done ministry in places where people knew they didn’t know Jesus and didn’t really care to know Jesus, and that is honestly my preferred setting, so I love Madison. I love introducing people to Jesus and inviting them into the life he desires for them. The best part of my job is, hands down, getting to be with people in the most significant moments of their lives and to point them toward Christ in those moments. It is such a privilege and a blessing.
I’m married to my better-half, Michelle, and we have 3 kids- 2 boys and a girl- and an overwhelmingly high-energy golden retriever.
