Preston Bousley
Communications Director
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin of around 2100 people. A large part of the culture of the town was going to Catholic church on Sunday, and going to watch basketball during the week. I was involved with both for most of my life, and my heart was eventually hardened because of my experiences with both. I felt like there was more to my Christian faith, and life in general, than basketball and church on Sunday. In college, I joined a student-led Christian organization and began to learn what Christian faith was more holistically, not just a trip to church on Sunday, but a daily pursuit of the God who created me.
What brought me to Madison was going to school at UW-Madison for pre-pharmacy. My goal in life has been, for many years, to make movies. However, it felt more practical to go to school for something more tangible. So, I ended up finishing my pharmacy school prerequisites, getting my bachelor’s degree in biology, then proceeded to start a photo/video business. I’d been attending High Point through much of this process, so when I was notified that the Communications Director position was listed, I quickly applied, and was blessed with the opportunity to accept the job that I’ve been in.
What I’m most excited about with working at High Point is the opportunity to systematize communications so that we can communicate clearly with the congregation, get people excited about what’s going on here, and use our platforms as an outreach tool to bring in non-believers to meet and get to know Christ at this church. Communication is a powerful tool for any church or organization, and with the power of God behind it, I know we can do great things for His Kingdom.
