DETAILS

  • Open House with Monte
    Sunday, November 22, 12:15–1:15 p.m., in Micah D
An opportunity for the congregation to get to know Monte Knetter better as he goes through the process of applying for Associate Pastor of Congregational Care. Please bring your questions and comments. Light refreshments will be available for those who attend.
  • Preaching Sunday
Sunday, November 29, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., in the Sanctuary
While Monte has preached before, this is a chance for the congregation to view him as a prospective candidate and for him to demonstrate his proficiency in the areas of ministry for which he is being interviewed, one of which is preaching and teaching.
  • Theological Examination
Wednesday, December 2, 6:30–9:00 p.m., in the Sanctuary
The purpose of a theological examination is to determine whether a pastoral candidate can be known to be competent in the learning expected of an overseer whose work will be ruling and teaching in the local church (1 Tim. 3:9; 5:17). As part of Monte’s pastoral candidacy, a panel selected by the Senior Pastor will ask Monte questions on Christian theology. This event is open to the congregation ahead of the vote on Monte as Pastor of Congregational Care at the December 6 special congregational meeting. No sign-up is required to attend!
  • Special Congregational Meeting
Sunday, December 6, 6:30 p.m., in the Sanctuary
A separate congregational meeting to vote on Monte becoming an Associate Pastor.
